I’d arranged with Nicole to do the usual 20 mile loop after work today but when we met up we decided to head off for cheeky pint of Belgian beer at the Merckx bar in Eccleshall. I’ve never been and always wanted to as I’ve heard great things about it.

On the way we got totally lost down the lanes near Cheswardine as all the lanes look the same and we’d decided it would be a good idea to ride to Eccleshall without a route on our GPS’s. After all, how hard could it be? ;).

Eventually we worked out which way to go and were soon in Eccleshall enjoying the Leffe beer. I’d not realised how strong it was and it was only after I finished my pint that Nic announced it was 8%!

The ride home was really funny as we both had fits of giggles and I’m told I was slurring my speech. I must be a right lightweight as I’d only had one pint!

A great evening out and I felt totally chilled out by the time I got home!
