I’ve been wanting a Specialised Roubaix ever since I rode one in Gran Canaria at the end of January and felt how comfortable they are for frequent long rides. The bike rental people in Gran Canaria made me an offer I could not resist and so I took the plunge.
When it arrived, the front brake did not work very well and I needed a few other things looked at so took it into my local bike shop, Nova Cycles, in Newport, Shropshire.
Today I picked it up and rode from there to home to test it out. A really nice ride it is too but these mechanical Ultegra gears are going to take some getting used to after using electric gears for so long.
