Was supposed to be a short and gentle leg spin before Velothon Wales on Sunday. Extended the ride through Atcham and Buildwas to Ironbridge in the end as I was enjoying it so much!

I wanted to get a few miles into the legs today without getting too carried away. Ideally, 30 miles of gentle spinning would do, so opted to do the Nova Raiders Route 33 from home.

I set off with all good intentions through Great Bolas, Waters Upton and High Ercall. Then I started to think I could stop for a coffee at the cafe The Haughmond in Upton Magna. All’s well so far…

Sat having my coffee I was enjoying the ride so far and the sun was out so I wondered about heading off to Atcham and then Buildwas and Ironbridge before returning to home.

What the heck, you only live once, so off I set. A lovely ride down the side of the River Severn into Ironbridge and once there I stopped to see a friend who works in a local shop.

After Ironbridge I headed off up the Jackfield climb, which was way easier than I was expecting (I must be getting better at hills!). It was then an easy ride past home and a slightly longer ride than I had planned.

I still kept it steady though, so my legs are still ok for Velothon Wales on Sunday.
