A chatty after work 3 Shires ride in the evening sun

After the weekend at Velothon Wales I’d arranged to go for a spin with Nic after work on Wednesday.

I rode over to her house with the intention of doing our usual alternative 20 mile route via Stoke On Tern and Cheswardine, but as it was early we opted for a 30 mile route to Woore and back that Nic and Tracy had done before.

The first part was pretty much along the main road to Market Drayton before we cut off via Tyrley Locks and into Drayton the back way. Much more scenic!

Then off up the Betton road to Norton In Hales. We had discussed stopping for a drink somewhere along the way but with a longer route time was a bit short and as it was we never ended up with enough time. Shame, but there is always next time!

We then headed up towards Audlem with fab views over Cheshire and in particular Beeston Castle and the Peckforton Hills.

After Woore it was an easy route back home with the only non-easy bit being up that really steep hill before Chipnall. Ouch, that hurt the legs tonight as they did not seem to want to go for a ride as much as the rest of me did!

Back in Hinstock, Nic went home to get on with some work and I headed home via Childs Ercall for some tea.

A fab ride out with lovely company and nice and sunny most of the time too. What’s not to like!
